Yoga by Helena is designed to promote a stress free environment for both the body and mind. There are many reasons to practice yoga as there are many different styles and poses. Stress and pain relief, better breathing, increased flexibility and inner peace are just some examples of these reasons (Top Ten Reasons) . Yogazander® is a special combination of Yoga and the Alexander Technique.  Participants practice classical yoga poses or postures with hands-on support to invite a gentle release of muscle tension and facilitate an easy, natural alignment.  This support allows you to experience more ease and freedom in each pose awakening new levels of awareness.  The goal of this practice is less stress and more flexibility on the yoga mat and in everyday life.The focus of our site is on providing information concerning the benefits of yoga and other related activities with an emphasis on Yogazander®.

Yogazander logoThe Alexander Technique was named for it's creator, Frederick Mattias Alexander (1869 - 1955). The individual is the focus of the Alexander Technique.  We are all unique, with different bodies, different experiences and different problems. We go about the process of change in different ways and at different rates. For these reasons, what happens in a lesson depends very much on the needs of the student at the time. But everyone who studies the Technique learns how to prevent unnecessary stress and expand their capabilities.

Yogazander® was developed by certified instructors, Helena Bray and Cheri Hotalen.  Helena is a certified Yoga instructor trained in the Indra Devi style and Cheri is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique.  Both teachers bring over fifteen years of personal study in their fields and share a passion for joyful living through Yoga.

Wind Power EmblemOur host service company has purchased Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to offset our energy use in an effort to reduce our impact on the environment. Since generating wind energy on site isn't feasible, they are offsetting all of our electricity use with wind-generated RECs.
